Woman Stabbed, Pikesville Barricade Details Released: Police
A woman was stabbed during a male's mental health crisis in Pikesville, police said. Officers explained what led to the barricade.

PIKESVILLE, MD — A mental health crisis and a domestic incident led to a Pikesville stabbing and barricade, police said Wednesday.
Officers said a woman, 32, was stabbed multiple times and a man, 48, suffered injuries to the upper body on Tuesday. Both were hospitalized and are in stable condition.
The suspect was also hospitalized, authorities said.

Police said they were called to the 8200 block of Arrowhead Road around 10:25 a.m. for a report of a stabbing.
"The male victim, a mental health clinician for the State of Maryland, had been requested by the suspect’s wife to assist the suspect, who was experiencing a crisis," the Baltimore County Police Department said in a press release without explicitly saying if the wife is the woman who was stabbed. "During the incident, the suspect retreated and barricaded himself inside the residence. Officers established a perimeter, and members of the Department’s Tactical and Crisis Negotiation Teams responded to the scene."

Officers said the barricade concluded shortly after 5 p.m.
"After several hours, the Tactical Team made entry and located the suspect, who had sustained a self-inflicted [wound]," Baltimore County police said in the release. "The suspect was transported to an area hospital in critical condition."
