Car Wash Converts Into Haunted House For Halloween In Prince George's County
A clever concept has emerged for Halloween - a car wash converted into a haunted tunnel of terror that allows people to social distance.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — During the pandemic, a creative way to enjoy going haunted housing while avoiding the crowds emerged. Thursday, Splash In Eco Car Wash will transform its tunnel car wash in Clinton into a "Scarea 51," a haunted car wash experience. It's considered fun, scary and offers social distancing.
"Splash In’s custom-designed experience of terror will deliver an evening of family-fun, spooky scares. Scarea 51 was designed to create plenty of surprise and startling moments for any car owner and their family," Jim Healy, spokesperson for Splash In, told Patch. "Haunted car washes have grown during the past year as they allow people to get their car clean and have some Halloween fun. Splash In thought it would be fun to bring the idea to Prince George's County and Washington, D.C. Splash In just wanted to create a fun and different way for people to celebrate Halloween."
The tunnel of terror will be Oct. 21, Oct. 24 and Oct. 24-31 from 6 to 10 p.m. Scarea 51 costs $10 for existing Splash In subscription members and $29 for non-members. Tickets can be bought online. Learn more by visiting SplashIn.com/Halloween.
