4 Killed In 3-Vehicle Crash On Carroll County Road: Police

The victims ranged in age from 17 to 72, police said.

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — Four people died in a crash Saturday in rural Carroll County, according to police.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Liberty Road at Skidmore Road, about 11 miles south of Westminster, police said. A Chevrolet Equinox traveling west on Liberty Road stopped to turn left onto Skidmore Road when a Saturn struck the Chevrolet from behind, causing it to enter the east lanes, where it was hit by a Ford F-350, according to police.

The victims were identified as 72-year-old Charles Black III of New Windsor, who was driving the Chevrolet, and passengers 69-year-old Barbara Black, 63-year-old Debbie Hill and a 17-year-old boy, all also of New Windsor, police said. The teen died at a hospital while the three adults were pronounced at the scene, according to police.

A 15-year-old boy from New Windsor who was also a passenger in the Chevrolet was taken to a hospital with injuries, police said, adding the driver of the Ford, a 59-year-old man from Mount Airy, was brought to a hospital for treatment.

Police do not believe impaired driving was a factor in the crash.
