Carroll County Under Tornado Watch Thursday
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for most of Maryland.

On the heels of this week's high temperatures, theΒ National Weather ServiceΒ reports a cold front is moving in that could produceΒ a tornado, particularly in northeastern Maryland on Thursday.
A tornado watch is in effect from 2 to 10 p.m. Thursday for most Maryland counties, including Carroll. Under aΒ watch, conditions are favorable for producing a tornado.
The weather service also issued a hazardous weather outlook, noting that severe thunderstorms may produce "damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall" that could lead to flash flooding.
"An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out...especially across northeastern Maryland," according toΒ the weather service.
