The Battle of West Frederick
July 1 at 7 p.m.

Join author Joseph Collins as he talks about how his genealogical research brought to life this little-known/long-forgotten Civil War battle. His book, The Battle of West Frederick, July 7, 1864: Prelude to Battle of Monocacy, details what took place in the farm fields west of Frederick City two days before the Battle of Monocacy.


READ Local with Dick Ellwood
July 20 at 2 p.m.

Meet Dick Ellwood, retired Baltimore police officer and author of Cop Stories: The Few, the Proud, the Ugly and Charm City’s Blue Justice. READ Local features a published author from the Carroll County community each month to meet and greet readers. Authors may have books available for purchase and signing.
