MD Man Who Physically, Sexually Abused His Daughters Sentenced To Prison

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — A Carroll County man was sentenced to 90 years in prison this week after a jury found him guilty of physically and sexually abusing his three young daughters.

In June, 59-year-old Mohammed Ali Hossain was convicted of multiple charges including rape, sexual abuse of a minor and child abuse. He was sentenced Monday by Circuit Court Judge Brian DeLeonardo, Carroll County State's Attorney Haven Shoemaker said in a news release.

"Nothing can erase the horrendous trauma these girls had to endure for so many years of their childhood. Their innocence was stolen by a person whose job should have been to protect them," Shoemaker said. "We hope that the strict sentence imposed by Judge DeLeonardo can provide them with a sense of justice as they move forward."

According to prosecutors, authorities investigated Hossain between April and May 2023 and discovered he had sexually assaulted his oldest daughter multiple times over six years.

Investigators also determined Hossain had physically abused all three of his daughters over the same period.

Following his release from prison, Hossain will be placed on probation and will be required to register as a sex offender.
