Rt. 32 Resurfacing Could Cause Delays
More than 17,000 drivers travel this section of MD 32 each day, according to the SHA.

Construction will begin onΒ MD 32 (Sykesville Road) between Old Washington Road and Short Lane RoadΒ in Westminster on Sunday, July 21. Β
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will resurface (grind and overlay) and restripe MD 32. SHA resurfaced this section in 1999 and the new treatment will extend the overall service life of the roadway, according to a news release.Β
Crews will work at nightΒ SundayΒ throughΒ Thursday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and traffic will be directed using a flagging operation.Β Cones, barrels and temporary traffic signs will also guide motorists through the work zone. More than 17,000 drivers travel this section of MD 32 each day.Β All work should be complete by late summer, according to the SHA.Β Β

The $1.1 million project is part of an area-wide safety and resurfacing contract issued to C.J. Miller, LLC of Hampstead.Β Drivers are reminded to remain alert for work crews, obey flagpersons and drive at the appropriate speed when traveling through the work zone. Β
