Car Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene

A hit-and-run accident near the intersection of Edwin and Centerhill streets Thursday afternoon left an 18 year old lying in the road, according to Montgomery County Police.

The pedestrian, Malcom Jamar Polk, of the 3500 block of Edwin Street in Wheaton, was taken to Suburban Hospital with critical injuries, according to a police statement.

The collision took place at approximately 4:50 p.m.

The blue 2007 Nissan Sentra had fled the scene, but police later located the car and its driver, Tyree Kenneth Edge, 18, of the 11900 block of Valleywood Drive in Silver Spring.
