Event Preview: Children's Day at Brookside Gardens
Musician Jay Mankita will perform songs that encourage children to eat healthy and exercise.

in Wheaton will celebrate its annual free Children's Day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year's theme is Eat Like a Rainbow, the title of the newest album from musician and educator Jay Mankita. Mankita, whose touring van runs on recycled vegetable oil, will perform shows at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Children can participate in activities and crafts throughout the event, and there will be a story time every hour starting at 11:30 a.m.

The free event is sponsored by Friends of Brookside Gardens. Attendees are asked to bring a can or non-perishable food item for donation to a local food bank.
