Why are you seeking this office?
I am a lifelong resident of Montgomery County. I think we do a lot of things well, but we can do some a little better. I am a moderate Democrat. I believe that the County Council needs more people with common sense ideas to make sure we spend our $6.3 billion budget in the most efficient way possible that helps the most people.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am a common sense moderate Democrat. My platform involves real life issues that I will fix if I'm elected to the County Council.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
My other main issues are fixing our roads and sidewalks in Montgomery County. We have way too many roads and sidewalks that are in poor condition. Also, we are a wealthy county. I want to make sure our $6.3 billion annual budget is spent properly and helps the most people it can.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I worked in radio for over 20 years. Every day I worked with a team of others to put on a show. I am honest and I work hard. I've also served Montgomery County in a variety of ways - volunteering for nonprofits, political campaigns, and serving on boards and committees.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
The best ability is avail-ability. Just showing up every day and working hard will get you far in this world. I was never the smartest or most talented person in radio, but I never missed a day of work and I did everything asked of me.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
We need more common sense moderates in government so we can get things done to help all people.
