Wheaton Field Hockey Surging In County.
The Wheaton Knights Field Hockey team is on a dramatic 4 game winning streak at 4-2 and has exceeded the victory totals of the last 4 years.

On Wednesday, September 17th, the Knights played a tough game but it took 2 overtimes to prevail against Einstein High School. The significance of the victory is the winning record the Knights hold. The victory gives Wheaton a 4-2 record and an unprecedented 2nd place in the 2A Division and 3rd overall in the county.
The Lady Knights got on the board early only 5 minutes into the game. Playing off consecutive corners the ball was passed to the center of the goal and Senior Camila Serpas was there to hit the ball in. The Titans tied it up 13 minutes into the 2nd half. The game would end in regulation with the score 1-1. The Einstein squad had tested the Knights through much of regulation but in OT their offense disappeared only crossing midfield twice. The Knights dominated the OT controlling the ball 90% of the time in the Titans end. Several shots were taken by the Wheaton attackers but were wide of their mark. At the 4:42 mark in the 2nd OT, Freshman, Hannah Duling’s shot found the back of the goal sealing Wheaton’s win. This was the 2nd game winning goal for the Freshman securing a 2-1 win against Seneca Valley two days earlier. The Knights will be tested next week against a tough Montgomery Blair squad on September 22nd at 3:30pm.
