• Maryland lawmakers override veto, will study impact of data centers (baltimoresun.com) — Woodlawn residents could see a major data center built in their community, and state lawmakers have just overridden the governor’s veto to launch a two‑year study on how such facilities affect Maryland’s environment, energy grid, and economy. Baltimore County Sen. Charles Sydnor, whose district includes Woodlawn, warns his constituents may face environmental risks without clear local benefits, as data center proposals spread from Frederick to Baltimore County and beyond.
   

• Councilman introduces "Trust Act" bill package to establish guardrails amid federal immigration crackdown (wmar2news.com) — Immigrant families in Woodlawn are directly named in a new “Trust Act” bill package that could change how Baltimore County employees and police share information with ICE. Councilman Izzy Patoka’s proposals would limit local cooperation on civil immigration enforcement and create an Office of Immigrant Affairs, with a heated council debate and public hearings expected in the coming months.
