Amazon Hiring Thousands In MA Ahead Of Holiday Season

Looking for a seasonal job? The world's largest online retailer is hiring.

MASSACHUSETTS — Amazon announced on Thursday that it will offer thousands of seasonal jobs in Massachusetts as part of a nationwide effort to hire a quarter of a million employees ahead of the holiday season.

The world's largest online retailer will hire 5,500 people in the Bay State for seasonal roles. The roles, which include full- and part-time positions, offer more than $19 per hour, flexible schedules and opportunities for extra income during the holiday season.

Amazon also announced that it will invest over $1 billion toward compensation for hourly fulfillment and transportation employees. That means total compensation will now average more than $30 per hour, with up to 35 percent pay increase for some employees.
