Beloved MA Spot Named Among Best Ice Cream Shops In U.S.

A shop that's been around for over four decades with a range of unique flavors made the Fodor's list.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Only a dozen ice cream shops across the country made a new list from Fodor's Travel — and a Massachusetts classic is among them.

Toscanini's, which has two Cambridge locations, got the nod from the travel guide.

Fodor's said Toscanini's is "most interesting," noting that the shop has a "willingness to push the boundaries when it comes to flavors, with bonkers-but-they-work ice creams spanning from Guinness (a crowd pleaser on St. Patrick’s Day) to Wasabi Ginger, which we assume isn’t for the faint-hearted."

The shop's "biggest success story" is its burnt caramel flavor, which is "earning acclaim and following for its smoky aftertaste on a heavy cream base," according to Fodor's.

Toscanini's has previously received attention from the New York Times, which claimed it's "the best ice cream in the world," according to the shop's website.

The shop was founded in 1981 and opened a second location in 2018.
