College Radio Volunteer Resigns After Calling For Killing JD Vance: Fox

The volunteer radio host posted about killing the vice president on the social media platform Bluesky, Fox reported.

LOWELL, MA — A volunteer college radio station host resigned after a post calling for the killing of Vice President JD Vance came to the attention of the authorities, Fox News reported.

The volunteer at University of Massachusetts Lowell radio station WUML posted about killing Vance on the social media platform Bluesky, the report said.

"'It's simple, we kill JD Vance,' said the person behind an account named hanslopez.bsky.social," per Fox News. The person identified themselves as a host of a radio show on WUML, which is funded by the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. The comment was made in response to another Bluesky user who claimed that, 'JD VANCE THINKS BRITAIN & FRANCE ARE AMERICAS [sic] LIKELY ENEMIES.'"

According to the radio station's website, "WUML has, for over six decades, given a voice to both the student body of UMass Lowell, and the greater Lowell community."

"Founded in 1952, WUML functions as a non-commercial FM station located in Lowell, Massachusetts, funded by the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and fully managed and operated by student members, broadcasting both terrestrially and online," according to the site.

After the university alerted the authorities to the post,the UMass Lowell police, the Haverhill police, the FBI and the Secret Service all launched an investigation that determined there was "no immediate threat," according to a statement from the school, Fox News reported.
