David Ortiz Lauds Cannabis, Launches Own Line Of Recreational Weed

BOSTON — Recently inducted MLB Hall of Famer David Ortiz is launching his own line of cannabis products, teaming up with Massachusetts cannabis company Rev Brands to carefully curate his own exclusive products.

Big Papi says he started using cannabis later in life to combat high levels of stress, physical pain from years of wear and tear, and anxiety. "Once I embraced the flow of the flower everything changed," Ortiz said in a statement.

The Red Sox's famous designated hitter says cannabis created a major change in his quality of life and mental wellness after using marijuana regularly.

"Cannabis has helped me relax, sleep better, manage stress and heal physically after a lifetime of playing ball, and I look forward to sharing Papi Cannabis and my personal journey to help people understand its benefits," Ortiz continued.

Big Papi's first strain of cannabis - "Sweet Sluggers" is expected to launch in July, along with some of his other "favorite strains" including "Bootylicious #4," Black Mamba #7," "Lava Cake #7," and "Motorbreath #15."

Rev Brands says Papi Cannabis will be sold in recreational dispensaries across Massachusetts with plans to release even more of his exclusive products later in the summer.
