MASSACHUSETTS — From a discount department store officially breaking ground to infant botulism cases linked to baby formula sold in Massachusetts, it's been a busy week in Massachusetts business news.

Discount department store to open at popular shopping center

Nordstrom Rack is set to open a storefront at Colony Place in Plymouth in the spring. The discount division of the department store chain Nordstrom will open at the open-air shopping destination.

Property owners hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking recently for the 27,000-square-foot store.

Longtime Reading jewelry store to close

Elyse Fine Jewelers, a store that's been around for over 25 years, is closing in Reading. The jeweler on Main Street announced it began a closing sale on Nov. 8.

The shop, opened by owner Richard Berberian in 1999, has been a staple of the community. Now, everything from diamond jewelry to handcrafted designs will be discounted.

Baby formula recall amid reported infant botulism cases in the U.S.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is alerting parents and caregivers about a voluntary recall of infant formula following a multi-state outbreak of botulism. ByHeart is recalling its Whole Nutrition Infant Formula, which is sold online and at major retailers nationwide

The two batches of ByHeart formula recalled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration are: 251261P2 (“Use by 01 Dec 2026”) and 251131P2 (“Use by 01 Dec 2026”).

Beauty retailer opens at popular outlets

Ulta Beauty, the nation's largest beauty retailer, opened this week at Wrentham Village Premium Outlets. The grand opening was on Friday, and shoppers can expect 20 percent off throughout the entire store through Sunday.

The store is located at 1 Premium Outlet Boulevard, Wrentham.
