MASSACHUSETTS — A fire in Framingham injured some residents and displaced many others this past weekend.

Meanwhile, the loss of a local leader to cancer was mourned by constituents and legislators alike.

More Than 10 Displaced In Framingham Fire
The fire department responded to the two-alarm fire at 33 Interfaith Terrace at approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday and rescued two people from the second floor. The two people were transported to the hospital along with one firefighter who suffered a minor injury.

State Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante Dies After Long Journey With Cancer
The 53-year-old was elected to the legislature in 2008 and has been dedicated to ensuring that the Cape Ann peninsula has a seat at the legislative table. Ferrante was a driving force behind the establishment of the Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute, Inc., and the Gloucester Biotechnology Academy, The Imagination Library for Cape Ann's children, and the expansion of The Open Door. Gov. Maura Healey expressed her sadness in losing a peer and close friend.

Medford's Waste Reduction Plan Draws National Attention
Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn announced that trash will be collected every other week as of July 2027, which is a part of a larger climate improvement plan. After some local and national backlash, the situation culminated in being the punch line of a monologue joke from Seth Meyers.

7 Teens Arrested After 2 Police Pursuits In Several MA Towns
The teenagers aged 13 to 15 are all facing charges after a chase of two stolen vehicles ended in respective crashes. The driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene and was not located.
