MASSACHUSETTS — Go to a steakhouse or quality seafood restaurant in many American states and you'll see a familiar region pop up in the descriptions for the raw oyster options.

New England and Massachusetts are home to some of the best oysters in the world, and the regional staple becomes even more important in the spring and summer.

Outdoor dining is back in Massachusetts, and that's perfect for pairing a drink and a dinner entree with a starter of raw oysters.

There are plenty of places to dine, but some offer better deals than others, including a few that are still running $1 oyster specials.

Woods Hill Pier 4

Dollar Oysters are available every Sunday and Monday from 5 to 10 p.m. in the bar area. The restaurant has set a limit of one dozen per person.

Rebel’s Guild

Rebel's Guild operates inside the Revere Hotel in Boston and offers dollar oysters every Tuesday at the bar starting at 5 p.m. until they run out.

Seamark

The restaurant inside Encore Boston Harbor has dollar oysters available each Monday through Thursday in the bar and lounge area starting at 5 p.m. until they run out.

La Brasa

Somerville's La Brasa is known best for its tacos — Eater Boston calls their carnitas tacos "essential" — but, if you arrive early enough, you can also catch $1 oysters from 5 to 6 p.m.

Warren Tavern

Not many spots in Massachusetts can offer a piece of history quite like the Warren Tavern. The elevator pitch? You can eat $1 oysters Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the same location that once fed George Washington and Paul Revere.

Bootleg Special

You don't always have to dine early to get $1 oysters. Boston's Bootleg Special offers an option for the night owls on Friday and Saturday, when they offer their buck-a-shuck from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
