Large Garage Fire In Northborough Under Investigation

It took about 50 minutes to bring the fire under control, according to officials.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — A fire burned at a two-story multi-car garage in Northborough on Sunday afternoon, according to the Northborough Fire Department.

Crews responded to a fire at the garage at 1400 Avalon Way and reports of people hearing several explosions at around 3 p.m. Half of the garage was used as storage by Avalon's Maintenance Divison, which contained equipment, building materials and various flammables.

Northborough Fire Department said it took about 50 minutes to bring the fire under control. Multiple agencies helped respond to the blaze, including Marlborough, Shrewsbury and Westborough Fire Departments, as well as Northborough DPW.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it is not considered suspicious. There were no reported injuries.
