The store is offering a 10 percent off customer appreciation sale from Tuesday until Sunday, according to its website.

Store fixtures and equipment will be available for sale.

The closures are due to "difficult economic and competitive conditions," according to The Connecticut Scoop.

"This is not a goodbye without deep gratitude," the company said in a statement. "We want to thank every customer who supported us, every pet who wagged through our doors, and every neighbor who chose Smithland for their garden beds, lawns, and backyard flocks. You've meant the world to us!"
