MA Weather: Snow, Sleet In Forecast Gives Little Winter Reprieve
The National Weather Service said to expect wintry weather Friday, with rain, sleet and snow making for messy conditions.

With towering piles of snow still on the ground, Massachusetts residents were told Tuesday to brace for at least a bit more of the white stuff later this week.

Friday morning will start with rain before changing to sleet and snow, resulting in some 1-3 inches of snow along and north of Route 2 and less than an inch. The change in precipitation will occur from north to south, reaching Boston by midday and the Cape by the afternoon.

"Rain is expected to change to sleet and snow Friday from north to south," the weather service said. "A couple of inches of snow and sleet accumulation is possible in northern Massachusetts with an inch or less elsewhere."
A winter weather advisory may be called for poor traveling conditions.

The temperature will help a bit with those big snow piles before Friday.
Temperatures Tuesday remain very cold, but the rest of the week could see high temperatures in the mid-40s in Boston and low temperatures slightly above freeing. The normal high and low temperatures for this time of year are 37 and 22 degrees, respectively.
