Major Auto Company To Shutter Over 100 US Locations—MA Stores Could Be Impacted

The news comes after the company lost more than $5 million last year. The chain has 22 shops in Massachusetts.

Monro Inc. is closing 145 stores across the country after a recent earnings report saw sales plummet by $5.2 million, according to a statement from the company.

The closures of "underperforming" stores will occur in the first quarter of 2026. In the fourth quarter of the 2025 fiscal year, sales decreased by 4.9 percent, according to the statement.

Closing the stores is one of "four key areas" the company is focusing on in order to improve. The others are improving customer experience, driving profitable customer acquisition, and increasing merchandise productivity.
