As Martha's Vineyard Celebrates 50 Years Of 'Jaws,' Local Favorites Roll Out Food Specials: MA Cheap Eats
From a shark-inspired donut to a specialty cocktail, here's how the Vineyard is celebrating the landmark film.
MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — "Jaws" has an outsized place in New England's cultural history, and, now that the movie is celebrating 50 years, one local community is set to celebrate alongside the film in a big way.
Martha's Vineyard transformed into Amity for the filming of the movie, and locals will help the Vineyard transform back into the fictional community this month.
The film will be screening at multiple locations across Cape Cod and the Islands this month. Multiple actors from the cast will also be around for events in June.

National Geographic and Amblin Documentaries, in conjunction with the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce and Circuit Arts, will present the premiere of "Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story," this month.
But, for those hoping to grab a bite to eat or a drink to cool off while taking in the festivities, at least two local spots have launched specials this month.

Back Door Donuts will have a specialty Jaws donut for $3.50, and pair the treats with themed hats available for purchase throughout June, while supplies last.
The donut shop released visuals for the donut on social media this week:
El Barco announced a limited-edition cocktail called “Sharks in the Water” for the month of June. It will cost $15.
The cocktail is a mix of Bacardi Superior, Blue Curacao, Coco Lopez, grenadine, and gummy sharks.
The restaurant will also have special Jaws t-shirts for $30.
