Mid-Day Storm To Bring Warmer Temps To MA, But They Won't Last
Strong winds have prompted warnings and advisories across the state. Here's what to know.
MASSACHUSETTS — Heavy rains will bring in strong winds and also seasonally mild temperatures on Friday, but don't expect that break in the cold to last.
The National Weather Service in Boston said this morning that heavy rains could impact southern New England into the mid-afternoon.
Strong to damaging winds are of greatest concern, however, as gusts up from 55 to 65 mph are expected in coastal areas of Massachusetts, including Cape Cod and the islands.

A high wind warning in effect for coastal Rhode Island and the coastal areas of Massachusetts. A wind advisory is in effect for the rest of southern New England.
As the afternoon turns to evening, forecasters expect those wind gusts to bring in much colder air in much of the state, bringing more seasonally standard temperatures to the area.
