MASSACHUSETTS — From a national bank closing multiple branches in Massachusetts to a listeria outbreak linked to meals sold at Walmart and Trader Joe's, it's been a busy week in Massachusetts business news.
National bank closes multiple branches in Massachusetts
TD Bank plans to close 51 branches in 12 states and Washington, D.C. That includes six bank locations in Massachusetts that would close by Jan. 29, 2026.

Branches that could be closing include — Beverly (175 Cabot St.), Chicopee (153 Meadow St.), Centerville (1708 Falmouth Road), Lowell (45 Central St.), Pittsfield (99 West St.) and Peabody (79 Lynnfield St.). A Wareham drive-thru at 242 Main St. is also set to close by that date.

Boll and Branch is opening its first store in Massachusetts. The luxury home textile stole will open at The Street in Chestnut Hill early next year.
The company is known for its use of 100% organic cotton to create cotton bedding, bath, and home products.
Listeria outbreak linked to ready-to-eat pasta meals
Several deaths have been connected to a Listeria outbreak linked to ready-to-eat pasta meals sold nationwide, including meals at Walmart and Trader Joe's.
Two items from Nate's Fine Foods Inc. were recalled. One is the smoked mozzarella pasta salad sold at Sprouts Farmers Market. This recalled item has use-by dates Oct. 10, 2025, through Oct. 29, 2025. Also recalled are 9.6-ounce packages of Scott & Jon's shrimp scampi with linguini bowls with use-by dates in March 2027.
