National Oyster Day Brings Deals For Locals: MA Cheap Eats

MASSACHUSETTS — National Oyster Day falls on Aug. 5 this year, meaning there are just a couple of days to make your plan.

Restaurants around the state are planning to celebrate the day with buck-a-shuck offerings, wine pairings and more.

Here are a few options to consider for the national food day with particular regional importance for coastal New Englanders.

Bambara Kitchen & Bar, Cambridge

The Cambridge restaurant will offer those dining in $1 oysters from 5 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

The selection of oysters may vary based on availability, officials said, but diners can expect local favorites like Wellfleet and Blue Point oysters.

After Tuesday, Bambara will continue to offer $1 oysters daily from 5 to 7 p.m. The oysters can be paired with "Rose All Day Flights” offered at the Bambara Bar and outside on the restaurant’s patio overlooking the Charles River basin.

Puritan Oyster Bar will serve six varieties of oysters at half price on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be specialty cocktails from ISCO and bubbles from Topo Chico to pair.

Rowes Wharf Sea Grille, Boston

The restaurant has partnered with Island Creek Oyster Co.

"Enjoy the bright, briny flavor of Aunt Dotty Oysters—petite and perfectly balanced—as well as Eider Cove Oysters, known for their clean finish and deep cup," officials said.

Seamark Seafood & Cocktails, Everett

Every Monday to Thursday, oysters are $1 in the bar and lounge. Beginning at 5 p.m., diners can order from a fresh, rotating selection of oysters until they sell out.

Rochambeau, Boston

Dollar oysters are available from 3 to 5 p.m. daily.

Rebel’s Guild, Boston

Dollar oysters are available every Tuesday at the bar only, starting at 5 p.m. until they run out.

Woods Hill Pier 4, Boston

Dollar Oysters are available every Sunday and Monday from 5 to 10 p.m. in the bar area only. The limit is one dozen per person.
