Popular Ice Cream Shop Expanding Again In Boston With $1 Scoops: MA Cheap Eats
The shop opened its first Boston-area location in April 2024 and has since grown to four locations. Two more will be added to the list soon.
BOSTON, MA — A New York City scoop shop that already has a presence in Boston is set to expand even more in the coming days.
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is will open its latest location on June 18 at Lyrik Back Bay, the new development at 400 Newbury St. Then, just two days later, Van Leeuwen will open its Fenway location on June 20 at 86 Van Ness St.
The scoop shop is growing fast in Boston. Van Leeuwen's first Boston-area shop opened in Chestnut Hill in April 2024. The business now also has locations in Harvard Square, Seaport and Wellesley.

This latest Van Leeuwen opening doesn't come without reason to celebrate for locals, as the business will be giving out $1 scoops from 12 to 2 p.m. on June 18 at the new Back Bay location. Free tote bags will also be given to the first 100 customers starting at noon.

“We’re so happy to continue growing in the Boston area and bring Van Leeuwen to the Back Bay and Fenway neighborhoods just in time for summer,” said Ben Van Leeuwen, CEO and co-founder of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.
Following its grand opening, the Back Bay location will be open Sunday–Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday–Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
The Fenway location will be open Sunday–Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., and Friday–Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
