Pasta Sauce Sold In MA Recalled Due To Health Risk, FDA Says
Three types of pasta sauce made by a New England company and sold at grocery stores is subject to a federal recall.

Pasta sauces distributed in Massachusetts have been recalled "due to a possible health risk identified by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection," according to the federal Food and Drug Administration.
Three types of sauce all made by First and Last Bakery, LLC, of Hartford, are subject to the recall.
The products were distributed through Big Y and "potentially other retailers" in Connecticut and Massachusetts from Sept. 22 to Oct. 28.

The following products were recalled:
- First and Last Original Marinara Sauce, Tomato & Basil
- First and Last Original Traditional Pasta Sauce, Meat Flavored
- First and Last Original Puttanesca Sauce, Mildly Hot & Spicy
Sales and production of the sauce have been suspended to ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements, according to the FDA.

No illnesses have been reported.
The products were manufactured without an approved scheduled process. Failure to appropriately process acidified or low-acid canned foods can result in the formation of botulism.
Botulism is a potentially fatal form of food poisoning. The condition includes the following symptoms: general weakness, dizziness, double-vision, and trouble with speaking or swallowing.
Difficulty in breathing, weakness of other muscles, abdominal distension, and constipation may also be common symptoms.
People experiencing these problems should seek immediate medical attention.
Anyone who have purchased the above-mentioned sauces is urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
