Popular Chain Abruptly Shutters Its Last MA Location
After a poor sales report, a national chain has closed locations around the country, including its last Massachusetts restaurant.
TYNGSBORO, MA — The last remaining Massachusetts location of a national chain restaurant has closed. The Bahama Breeze located in Tyngsboro was one of 15 of the brand's restaurants to recently close across the country, according to The Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
The closures of more than a third of remaining Bahama Breeze locations came abruptly last week. The restaurant's parent company, Darden Restaurants, said that the closures were the “right decision because it will allow Bahama Breeze to focus on its highest performing restaurants and strengthen the brand’s overall performance,” CNN reported.
The move comes after the business performed poorly, with sales falling 7 percent over the last year.
