Prosecutors have accused Donald Trump of meddling in the 2020 election, culminating in the Jan. 6 riot that many locals participated in.

MASSACHUSETTS — Former president Donald Trump was charged Tuesday following a U.S. Department of Justice investigation into his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election, which culminated in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
The indictment was unsealed Tuesday, showing Trump is facing six charges: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruction an official proceeding, obstruction and attempt to obstruct and official proceeding and conspiracy against rights.
A dozen Massachusetts residents have also been charged in connection to the Jan. 6 riot, which federal prosecutors say was an attempt to prevent Congress from certifying the results of the 2020 election.
