Summer's Farewell Tour?: Beach Weather Returns Across MA This Weekend

After a week of cool days and chilling mornings, it will be warm and sunny for the last weekend of August.

MASSACHUSETTS — Those looking to get in one more beach trip or a day lounging by the pool before pumpkin spice season kicks into full gear will be in luck this weekend as summer-like temperatures return to Massachusetts ahead of the upcoming Labor Day weekend.

After a week of cool days and downright chilly mornings, temperatures will rebound to more dog-day levels with highs in the mid-80s under mostly sunny skies.

The good times start early on Friday with the National Weather Service calling for sunny skies, calm winds and a high near 81 degrees.

It should get even warmer on Saturday and Sunday with mostly sunny skies each day and a forecast high of 84 degrees on Saturday and 85 degrees on Sunday.

The other good news is that the oppressive humidity that drenched many of the warmest days of the past three months will not be returning. While dew points will rise from this week's rock-bottom lows, it will remain largely in check with low temperatures each night about 65 degrees across the state.

The fair weather is expected to last into Monday before a chance of showers late in the day before another stretch of more fall-like weather returns next week.
