Worcester County Man Claims $1M Lottery Prize
He claimed the first $1 million grand-prize winner in a new Massachusetts State Lottery instant-ticket game.
ERVING, MA — A massive lottery prize was claimed in the Bay State last week.
Alan Levreault was the first $1 million grand-prize winner in a new Massachusetts State Lottery instant-ticket game called "$1,000,000 Go for the Green." The Athol man purchased the ticket on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
Levreault, who said he will invest his winnings, chose to receive his prize in a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.

He bought the winning ticket at Weatherheads Convenience Store at 63 French King Hwy. The store will also receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
The new instant ticket game included four more instant grand prizes of $1 million. The odds of winning a prize that large are 1 in more than 3 million, according to the lottery's website.
