Acton Election 2021: Arsenault Is New Selectmen

Just over 14 percent of registered voters in Acton hit the polls on Tuesday.

ACTON, MA — Acton held its annual town election on Tuesday and just over 14 percent of registered voters in town hit the polls, according to preliminary results.

This year's election only had two contested races: the race for selectman and school committee. In an election twist, incumbent Jon Benson lost his selectman seat to Francesca Arsenault. The position is a three-year term. Arsenault won the race with 52 percent of the vote while Benson earned 47 percent.

In the race for School Committee there were two seats open and four candidates running. Andrew Shwartz came in first with 26 percent of the vote followed by Benjamin Bloomenthal who earned 24 percent of the vote.
