Acton Selectmen OK Contract Extension, Raise for Town Manager

Steve Ledoux has been Acton's town manager since 2008.

The Acton Board of Selectmen first tapped Steve Ledoux as its town manager in 2008.

Residents can expect him to be around for a few more years after the Board approved a contract expension and raise for his recently.

Ledoux received a 2 percent raise and extension of his contract by one year, to June 30, 2016.

"The Board of Selectmen considers Mr. Ledoux to be an effective town manager," Selectman Chair Janet Adachi told Acton Patch. "That is clear from the recently completed annual performance evaluation and changes in Mr. Ledoux’s compensation package."

Ledoux's prior experience included serving as town manager in Williamstown, Sudbury and Westford.

"As town manager, Mr. Ledoux is responsible for day-to-day operations of the municipal government. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the job, having served as a town manager for over 30 years collectively in a number of towns, including Acton," Adachi said. "His tenure in Acton has been an economically challenging time during which the municipal government has continued to provide high-quality municipal services while at the same time remaining financially responsible, with a consistently high bond rating."

Ledoux was on vacation this week and did not immediately return an email seeking comment.

"Municipal employees have had be more resourceful and innovative, and Mr. Ledoux has kept them motivated to do so, and made sure to recognize them for their efforts," Adachi said. "Mr. Ledoux also provides support to the Selectmen, for whom his expertise in municipal management is invaluable as the Selectmen make their own decisions in behalf of the Town."
