Dedham 5th Graders Host Food Drive For Pantry: Dedham Heroes

DEDHAM, MA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Jennifer Doherty who nominated the Riverside Elementary School 5th grade class.

Relationship to nominee:

My daughter goes to the school.

Reason for recognition:

The 5th grade performed a food drive for the Dedham Food Pantry. They collected a lot of food, they received a check for $1500 from a parent, and they are writing notes for seniors and attaching them to cookie packages for the holidays.

One thing to know:

The 5th grade has been staying involved and focused on school even though it has been very hard on them doing remote and hybrid. They are great kids.
