ACTON, MA — A falling icicle ruptured a gas line Monday morning, causing an evacuation but no injuries or significant damage.A spokesperson for the Acton Fire Department said firefighters responded to 25 Westford Lane shortly before noon for a rupture in a one-inch gas line. The building, which contains multiple businesses, was evacuated. National Grid contained the leak and shut off the gas two hours later. "Fortunately this incident was quickly contained and no significant damage resulted," Fire Chief Robert Hart said. "I want to thank our firefighters, as well as those from our mutual aid partners, for their timely response."
