UPDATE: Police, K9s, Locate Suicidal Missing Man

Scanners reported that a man was on the run this morning in Acton.

1:55 p.m. Acton police officers searched for a reported missing "suicidal" person after receiving a call early Sunday morning. At 5:30 a.m., Massachusetts State Police assisted Acton police in the search with K9 units.

Within a short period of time, the missing man and his dog were seen from the helicopter walking the grounds of the Quail Ridge County Club. Police on foot found him and he was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, said police. 

10 a.m.: Scanner reports said that the search was on early Sunday morning for a “suicidal man,” with Massachusetts State Police’s K9 unit on the scene looking at Palmer kennels.

According to scanner reports, two K9 teams searched the tracks for the missing suicidal male, and an air wing unit made its way from Plymouth. Cell phone pings indicated the man was last at the Quill Ridge Country Club on Great Road in Acton.

Shortly after 9 a.m., troopers reported they had the missing man in custody after he put up a brief struggle.
