Police Log: Broken Glass, Hit-and-Runs and Harassment Complaints

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Aug. 26

9:46 a.m. – Police responded to Mass Ave for a harassment complaint.

10:16 a.m. – A caller reported a man sleeping in a church on Central Street.

12:24 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Jackson Drive.

12:45 p.m. – A 911 hang-up came in from Monroe Drive. Responders confirmed the call was related to an earlier motor vehicle accident.

1:37 p.m. – Police received a report of a past hit-and-run accident on Main Street.

2:57 p.m. – Police responded to a report of two people in a dumpster on Great Road.

4:52 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Ellsworth Village Road. According to the log note, a sliding glass door at a residence there was broken from the inside, and not shot with a BB gun as had been suspected.

8:15 p.m. – Officers assisted a Boxborough resident tracking a stolen cell phone, but were unable to locate the device.

Tuesday, Aug. 27

9:30 a.m. – A 911 hang-up came in from Hayward Road. It was confirmed as accidental by an employee, according to the press log.

10 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a larceny on Main Street.

10:02 a.m. – Police responded to Great Road for a report of an elderly woman involved in a minor motor vehicle. An unmarked police vehicle was involved in an accident, according to the press log.

11:07 a.m. – A woman reported her car door touched the car next to hers when she exited the vehicle at the Bank of America on Great Road. The woman said she examined the other vehicle and didn’t see any damage, but when she returned from the bank the other car was gone and there was a note on her windshield with an unreadable phone number.

12:01 p.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident involving a school bus on Mass Ave.

6:51 p.m. – Police responded to a report of annoying phone calls on Liberty Street.

10:22 p.m. – Police responded to Strawberry Hill Road for a noise complaint. According to the log entry, there were no real issues.

Wednesday, Aug. 28

3:23 a.m. – A School Street resident called to report a picture missing from his wall.

6:24 a.m.  – Police responded to an alarm activation at a pharmacy counter on Mass Ave. It was confirmed as accidental by an electrician.

3:10 p.m. – A report of fraud came in from Chestnut Street.

3:19 p.m. – Police responded to a reported breaking-and-entering on Cowdrey Lane.

3:39 p.m. – Police responded to a report of harassing phone calls on Concord Road.

7:55 p.m. – A report of a suspicious person came in from Old Meadow Lane. The responding officers reported the person in question was gone one arrival.

8:43 p.m. – An accidental 911 call came in from Wampus Avenue. A resident confirmed her mother was attempting to call India.
