104 Andover High Students Inducted Into National Honor Society
Several NHS students also baked pies in the AHS cafeteria that were donated to Lazarus House for its Thanksgiving baskets.

ANDOVER, MA — Earlier this month, 104 Andover High School juniors and seniors were inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS), the school announced.
The students officially were honored at a Nov. 2 induction ceremony at the Collins Center for the Performing Arts, where they received certificates and pins. The current group of inductees joined the 106 existing NHS members at AHS.
Students with a 3.75 GPA, or a 4.25 weighted GPA, are eligible to apply to the National Honor Society. The organization was founded in 1921 based on four pillars: scholarship, service, leadership and character.

"This is an exceptional group of students who are involved in many aspects of the school," said AHS English teacher Brian Shea, the school's NHS advisor and organizer of the induction ceremony.
Shea continued: "In addition to being made up of a variety of students who excel in academics, athletics, and the arts, NHS students are a group of generous, caring and respectful kids who are deeply involved in their community."

AHS Principal Caitlin Brown said Shea deserved credit for organizing the induction event and for his work with the NHS program.
"Mr. Shea always does an incredible job to highlight and honor the achievements of students. I want to acknowledge his years of hard work and efforts, we are grateful for his dedication," Brown said.
A week after the induction ceremony, several NHS students from AHS showed their commitment to community service by donning aprons and baking 500 pies in the AHS cafeteria. The pies were donated to the Lazarus House to be placed in Thanksgiving baskets.
