Ammunition Found in Bible at La Quinta Inn

The police log for Thursday, March 31, contained two arrests and several small incidents.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Thursday, March 31

At 3:05 a.m. police arrested Luis A. Cabrera, 40, of 320 Lawrence St., Lawrence, on Lowell Street. Cabrera was charged with speeding in violation with a special regulation, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license – subsequent offense, operating under the influence of liquor and an open container of liquor in a motor vehicle.

At 5:59 a.m. an employee of the reported that staff found firearm ammunition in a bible and were asking police to dispose of it. An officer retrieved the ammunition.

At 7:49 a.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Lowell Street. Possible injury was reported in the two-vehicle accident.

At 8:39 a.m. a two-car accident was reported on Dascomb Road. Both drivers refused medical treatment.

At 8:52 a.m. vandalism to a building on Central Street was reported.

At 1:59 p.m. a caller reported a hit and run accident on Poor Street.  

At 11:20 p.m. police arrested Scott J. McCarthy, 52, of 41 Reids Lane, Epsom, N.H., on Dascomb Road. McCarthy was charged with assault and battery on a household member and witness intimidation.
