Andover Annual Town Meeting Voter Registration Deadline Is Friday

ANDOVER, MA — Andover officials are reminding residents that Friday is the last day to register for the Annual Town Meeting, which is on May 1.

From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, the Board of Registrars will hold extended hours at the Town Offices, 36 Bartlet St., for the purpose of registering new voters. Residents with a license or an ID issued by the Registry of Motor Vehicles can register online. Mail-in registration forms must be postmarked by Friday.

All registered voters in Andover are eligible to vote at Town Meeting.

The Annual Town Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 1 in the J. Everett Collins Center for the Performing Arts at Andover High School, located at 100 Shawsheen Rd. The meeting could continue on May 2 and May 3, if necessary, officials said.

The Town Meeting will decide on issues like: the FY 2024 budget, capital expenditures, a tax increment financing agreement, and "capping" the Ledge Road landfill.

The signed 2023 Annual Town Meeting Warrant is available online. The Finance Committee Report also is available online, and will be mailed to each household no later than Friday, town officials said.

At 7 p.m. on April 25, the Town Manager's office will host a Pre-Town Meeting Forum at the Public Safety Center, located at 31 North Main St.

According to officials, the event will allow residents to learn about the articles on the Town Meeting Warrant. Plus, the Town Manager and all town senior managers will be on hand to present information and answer questions.

Residents also have the option to participate remotely via Zoom or watch the event on Comcast channel 8 or Verizon channel 47.

Additionally, a recording of the forum will be available on Andover TV.
