Andover Brothers Spot Fire In House Attic: Report

Two local teens spotted a fire Saturday, alerted the residents and called 911, saving precious time.

ANDOVER, MA — Two teenage brothers were the first to notice the fire on Summer Street Saturday, according to multiple reports.

Ian and Graham Dalton, 14 and 17, were on their way home during the storm Saturday when they spotted an attic fire at 49 Summer Street., their mother told the Andover Townsman.

The two alerted the residents and called 911, paving the way for Andover Fire Rescue and mutual aid companies to quickly extinguish the fire, Chief Michael Mansfield told the Townsman. He credited the brothers with saving the house.

Andover Fire Rescue said around 3:20 p.m. Saturday that the fire had been knocked down.
