Andover High, Phillips Academy To Compete On 'High School Quiz Show'
The schools have qualified for the 16-team knockout tournament that will tape in January and air on GBH and YouTube beginning in February.

ANDOVER, MA — Andover High School and Phillips Academy both have qualified for the televised "High School Quiz Show" knockout tournament that will take place early next year, GBH has announced.
The tournament, which features four-person teams from high schools around Massachusetts, will begin taping its 14th season in January at GBH's Brighton studios. The season will premiere on television on Feb. 4, and will be carried on GBH 2 and on the High School Quiz Show YouTube channel.
Andover High and Phillips Academy are two of the 17 schools that advanced to the knockout tournament after taking a written quiz on Nov. 6 at the GBH studios.

There were 65 schools that attended that event. Concord-Carlisle High School and Melrose High School will square off in a wild card match to determine the 16th and final spot in the upcoming tournament.
Andover High, which is participating in "High School Quiz Show" for the seventh time, will face South High School in its opening match, which will air on Feb. 11. Andover High captured the Season 9 championship.

Phillips Academy, competing for the second time, will face Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in its first-round matchup, which will air on March 25.
This year also will mark the first time since before the pandemic that the show will be taped in person. Emmy award-winning television and radio personality Billy Costa will serve as host.

"We look forward to welcoming fans, families, friends and community members back to our audience as we challenge the Season 14 cohort to show off their smarts."
