Andover High School Hires Interim Principal

Andover High School has hired an interim principal after Principal Caitlin Brown announced her resignation last month.

ANDOVER, MA — Elizabeth Taylor will join Andover High School as the interim principal beginning Monday. Taylor has 42 years of experience in education and recently retired as principal of Beverly High School, where she served for 8 years.

Taylor has led several "robust initiatives," according to a district statement, including one New England Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation, new school construction projects and renovations, a one-to-one laptop program, whole school curriculum revision, the implementation of freshman academy, and co-teaching teams.

"Ms. Taylor is excited for the opportunity to work with the Andover High School community and support the great work of the district," according to a district statement.

Taylor will work with Principal Caitlin Brown this week on the transition. Brown announced she would resign last month, The Eagle-Tribune reported. Brown was hired as an assistant principal in 2016 and promoted four years later.

Taylor holds a BA in English from Regis College, a Masters in Theatre Education from Emerson College, and a Masters in Education from Salem State University. She has served in various roles including teacher, summer school director, and director of teacher-mentor programming.
