Andover High Will Compete Again On GBH's High School Quiz Show

ANDOVER, MA — Whiz kids from Andover High School will compete on the 13th season of the GBH series "High School Quiz Show," the station announced this week.

Andover will be one of 17 teams to compete on season 13 of the show, which will premier on Feb. 5. The schools won spots in the competition after scoring highest in a recent qualifying event with 72 schools.

"'High School Quiz Show' is a fast-paced, bracketed academic competition for teams of Massachusetts high school students, produced by GBH. Aside from 'Jeopardy!,' 'High School Quiz Show' is the most popular academic quiz show on American television," GBH said in a news release.

This is Andover's 6th time appearing on the High School Quiz Show. In Season 9, Andover took home the State Championship against Lexington High School.

This season, teams will participate remotely while host Billy Costa moderates from GBH's Brighton studios.

"We’re so pleased to be able to join together with communities and schools across the Commonwealth to celebrate the hard work and perseverance of our high school students," Executive Producer Hillary Wells said. "High School Quiz Show serves as a dedicated space for sharing the joy in learning and the pride of sportsmanship. We invite viewers from Massachusetts and across the country to follow the journey and support their favorite teams starting with the premiere in February."

• Notre Dame Academy (Worcester)

• Shrewsbury High School
• The Bromfield School (Harvard)
• Westford Academy
• Weston High School
