Andover Resident Describes Eerie Scene After the Explosions
Andover resident Julia Hsia was volunteering at the Marathon but had been out at lunch during the two explosions.

Andover resident Julia Hsia shared her first-hand account of her experience of the Boston Marathon explosions. While she had been volunteering near the finish line, she had gone out to lunch at the Top of the Hub.
This was her account:
Just about the time we finished eating, we heard 2 booms, very much
like distant thunder. We went over to the window and did not see
anything unusual, partly because we were too high up and could not
hear anything.

After we came down to the street level, there were tons of people walking here and there but no panic; no running. There were policmen directing traffic and helping us cross the streets. No one knew anything when we asked. I think it was because it just happened. It seemed like everyone was on their cell phones. We did see a couple of people crying.
During our 10 min walk to the bus which was parked on Stuart St, we started to see many ambulances go by. We made our way to our bus and got back to Lawrence in about 45 min. It was not until I watched the news when I found out the enormity of the tragedy.
