Andover Residents Dominate in Fair Tractor Pull

Three Andover residents placed in the Topsfield Fair's Antique Tractor Pull competition.

The Topsfield Fair this year offered a wide variety of food, interesting features and entertainment. But there were a few Andover residents that went there to win.

With agriculture rooted in the fair's history, animals and farm equipment are a large part of the event and three Andover residents placed in the Antique Tractor Pull competition this year.

Andover resident John Young, Jr. won first in the Class A, 1,801-2,500 pounds, antique tractor pull competition, pulling 2,495 pounds. John Young made second place with another 2,495 pound-pull.

Andover resident Ted Whitman earned a 1st place award in the Class A 2,501 to 3,000 pound category.

The 2011 Topsfield Fair ran from Friday, Sept. 30 to Monday, Oct. 10. Find out more information about the fair at http://topsfieldfair.org.
