Book Buddies at the Library
The Memorial Hall Library will be holding their "Read to Me Book Buddy" program this summer.

This was submitted by the Memorial Hall Library staff member Kimberly S. Lynn.
This summer your child can practice reading at Memorial Hall Library with a book buddy!
Research tells us that kids lose knowledge over the summer months. Research also tells us that summer reading programs can not only help children retain their skills, but can even help them improve!

"Read to Me Book Buddies" is a free enrichment program that pairs 1st through 5th graders with the library's teen volunteers (MHL "volunteens"). The program is designed to give kids extra reading practice with a caring teen mentor who will help make reading fun.
Parents may register children entering grades 1-5 in September 2011. Registration is limited to one session per child per week. A parent or other adult caregiver of the young reader must remain in the building during the session. Readers will be admitted into the program on a first-come, first-serve basis.
