Bracelets Carry Colleen Ritzer's Message, Raise Money in Her Honor
"Find Good in Every Day."
Often in the wake of sudden tragedy, while the grief settles in, people wonder what they can do now.
After 24-year-old Colleen Ritzer was murdered last week, her friend Katelyn Mahoney started having bracelets made honoring Colleen to raise money for a scholarship in her name.
"Colleen was, by far, one of the greatest people I ever had the pleasure of knowing," Mahoney wrote on the Facebook page dedicated to the bracelets. Mahoney and Ritzer were friends in college, and both would eventually be math teachers. "Her smile lit up our classroom every single day. Colleen, since her death, has been often recognized as a 'ray of light,' one that, without a doubt, will be missed."The Colleen Ritzer Memorial Bracelets are pink with writing that reads: "Find Good in Every Day." That was something Ritzer was known for saying.
The bracelets are $5, and you can order one by emailing colleenritzermemorialbracelets@gmail.com.
All proceeds are donated to the Colleen Ritzer Memorial Scholarship, which will be used to help students from Danvers High School attend college.

Ritzer, a Danvers High School math teacher, was found dead near that school last Wedensday, and 14-year-old Philip Chism -- a student of hers -- was arrested and was arraigned on a murder charge in Salem District Court the same day.
